Nah the generational L came when we picked Trubisky instead of Mahomes. I knew Mitch was a bust the moment I heard his name.

Mahomes wasn’t even on my radar back then and he was mainly seen as a project. The QB we passed on was Watson. He was the obvious pick who beat the mighty Alabama team. People also forget how well he played his rookie season (when Mahomes was still backing up Alex Smith) until he got hurt.

We were 12-4 with Mitch during his 2nd season. If we had Mahomes we would’ve went to the SB that year.

To this day, I have no idea why Mitch shot up the draft boards like that. What has a QB coming out of UNC ever done? Mitch was a one year starter who went 8-5. Yet he’s the #2 pick in the draft
