Cain Velasquez is still shooting... just not in his usual way.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was jailed Monday after he was involved in a shooting that left one man injured.

NBC Bay Area, citing “sources with direct knowledge of the investigation,” first reported the news of Velasquez’s involvement in the shooting in Morgan Hill, Calif. The San Jose Police Department is investigating the shooting and did not provide details regarding Velasquez.

Although it’s unclear how Velasquez was involved, online records showed late Monday night that he was being held at the County of Santa Clara Department of Corrections facility without bail. No charges have been listed, and the reason for his detainment isn’t known.

Velasquez is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday at noon PT.
