Brehnadians might as well get the thread title tattooed on they foreheads :mjlol:

At least we're not Australians, those nikkas gotta pay $125 for Demon Souls.

I'm curious to see the long-game of this decision, because if anything, it'll detract people in certain regions from wanting to transition to the next generation right away. Which would be going against their whole mission of getting the user-base on the PS5 as quick as possible, but... :manny: In fact, it kinda gives more of an incentive to buy the PS4 editions of the PS5 games coming out. Plus games get made for the previous console for at least a solid year and a half give-or-take, so people would only really need to consider moving to the next gen around 2022, assuming things go as usual.

Wishful thinking, but maybe they'll backpedal on the price raise once they see people hesitate. If people don't, well... :manny:

I would never cop anything on release date if I had to pay 90 to 100 dollars

Gonna wait it out for another year, Holiday 2021 would be the best time to get one imo

I did however pre-order the DuelSense on Amazon.

That's still a deal. Our dollar is in the low to mid 70s for the last couple of years. They could easily move to $700 if they wanted but then we would tap out. $629 is crazy and yet I still copped.

It should be listed at $649 with conversion.

And new games have been $79 since the PS4 maybe before.

taxes breh
lets be real we are getting ripped off
forget conversion because a dollar to us is a dollar.

For context the ps4 was 399 on release date in canada

i dont play THAT many games. If spending $300 a year buying 3 games is hurting your pockets you have other priorities you should be worried about

I knew about the 79 price tag before tax. games are 90 bucks. PS5 games got that slight price increase and are now 89. For some reason I can see other companies being slick and sneaking that bump in as well and we'll just sucker ourselves and continue to give them THAT much money for more incomplete games.

I made a post a while back about the full amount one would probably have to spend day one come next gen.

600 for the console
100 maybe 200 for 2 games
100 for an extra controller
and how much is PSN?

and if you want a warranty on that too.

Consoles lowkey became a scam after the Gamecube/PS2/OG Xbox era.

i'm 35 i remember growing up and snes games were 90 plus bucks

Our dollar was almost at par with the US dollar during that time.

Been a long time since then that we've been outside of the 70s for the past few years.

That dollar tells us that we pay more for stuff to come in as we have to buy at the market rate, which refers to the American dollar as the leader.

Our taxes aren't even that high.
