I was responding to the guy who asked why other whites were not enslaved then. Pay attention.

Some at theColi have a very simplistic reading of history and seem to prefer to wallow in self-pity. Individuals, peoples, countries no matter the time have motivations that make do what they did, if you understand what they were then you understand different historical events. "Well they're all evil" won't take you far.

Make use of the reply button on the bottom right corner of another members post then, because despite you thinking you are dropping knowledge, to everyone else it looks like you are talking about random shyt.

Furthermore the motivations for slavery (economic) in no way justifies what happened. Neither does it mean people of African descent needn't be angry about it. So again I ask what is your point? You must be coming to some grand conclusion.

Because all you are doing is posting a summary of the Atlantic Slave trade at this point.

People have different perspectives of understanding. Even the fukking article the OP posted is an example of this; the authors and artists clearly thought that slavery wasn't that bad, that there were happy slaves. This is their understanding on the topic.
People in this thread (assuming most of them are black) are taking into account what white people have done to black people in the past and coming to a conclusion your oft quoted "they are evil." This is their understanding on the topic.

no, talking about how and why the slave trade happened (blacks to the Americas specifically, slavery has been around for a long time, and affected different peoples) is not belittling it, it's putting in proper context.

Some of you really need get a grip. You're not speaking from personal experience with slavery, you're many generations removed from it and talking about it in relative material comfort.

Let me remind you that this discussion started because some people got butthurt over some random Facebook comments. The issue is that alot of white people have this skewed view of slavery. Alot of them believe it wasnt that bad,and actually think we benefited from slavery since they took us away from Africa. Also they try to say we have to get over it. Yeah get over 300 years in bondage and systemic racism. This book just reinforces that slavery wasnt that bad and that we were better off as slaves and that leads to a dangerous talking point. The slavery that africans went through was different then the way the romans,greeks,Persians,Carthaginians etc practiced.

Aside from some c00ns I hope you understand we don't care what you white people think of us. No matter what station or accomplishments we have in life you will always see us as lesser.
