Dems seem to be just sitting there letting it happen. Correct me if I’m unaware of any lawsuits/blocking efforts by them, tho
The State Dem party along with the ACLU, SPLC, LDF and several other voting rights groups, civil rights organizations, and even churches have been working in opposition to these laws for years. Do you guys even pay attention to these things or do you only come around when you think you can play the 'gotcha' game?

I don’t care
I see @JT-Money dapped this post. If you don't care, then why did you dap the other post trying to pass the blame off to Dems? There are way to many dishonest people on this forum.

Yeah people like OP and the clowns that agree with him are used to black people not having shyt when they go out and vote. Just a bunch of defeated ass negros who’s scared of the most bytchmade racial group on the planet. And it is beyond pathetic.

I said before these clowns like to use any dirty tactics for their advantage because they can’t compete with black people because we excel over them at everything under the sun. That ain’t no superiority shyt, that’s some real bytch shyt.

When the smoke clears, y’all gonna be right back bytching for another 4 years about whichever president ain’t doing shyt for us because y’all keep falling for the same fukking okey doke. I’m not giving my vote to either one of those clowns because they don’t have black people interest at heart and you stupid mothafukkas want us to keep going out and vote and not question what the fukk we getting for our votes. Every non black person is thinking long term for their votes, while you clowns only thinking short term for your votes.

Every Dem POTUS since Ford had a 2 year period with both houses of Congress, and have had the White House for 12 of the last 16 years.. Why didn't they fix all this shyt when they had the chance?

Also, if their platform was like that, Black people would make sure it happens. nikkas were out voting for lame ass Obama like waiting for Jordans. Our people are stubborn as hell when properly motivated.

There’s no such thing as bothsiders at this point. They’re just lying/undercover trump supporters. If both sides were really the same then Republicans wouldn’t be going out of their way to stop black people from voting.
Bingo.

One thing about Democrats....they want every citizen to be able to vote as easily as possible. They DO NOT want roadblocks.

Republicans want roadblocks because they know an engaged electorate won't vote for them over a decent Dem option. Dems need to push back a lot harder on this. When people say "states rights" what they mean is "we want to engage in unabashed fukkery without federal intervention."

Election reform needs to be a national issue. I don't trust red states to handle it. This is why people being casual about Drumpf in 2016, still bites us in the azz today. All them judges including the Supreme Court.....Dems need a good long run and may need to expand the court.

I think if Texas is a lost cause that should be said instead of creating the implication that voting for Kamala will somehow fix what is happening there.
The only thing keeping Texas red are conservative transplants from out of state and apathy from the state Democratic Party.

If only Native Texans could vote, Beto would have defeated Cruz. The state is MUCH closer to flipping than people realize. Problem is that it's hella expensive to campaign here because you have multiple major population centers (DFW, Houston, San Antonio, Austin etc).

Rural population keeps shrinking but they turnout in huge numbers and Republicans run up the margins. Dems win Dallas 60/40 but lose 100 podunk counties by 80/20. Hispanic turnout is key. State is 40%+ Latino....they vote Dem like 65/35...but they have the lowest turnout by far. If they just matched Black turnout, Texas is light blue or at least purple.

Yup.

Kind of a hard ask but people are so politically tapped in atm that I think it's possible. Could be a major turning point for the good

The apathy that some black people have about the voting rights being trampled on is disgraceful no one is telling you to vote if you don't want to, but you should care about these people trying to take your rights away from you.

States run their own elections, so it's not like Democrats can just waltz into Congress and "fix" everything when they're in power. Individual states make the rules on voter registration, maintaining voter rolls, mail-in voting, and even where polling places go. The largest concentration of Black people is in the South, in red states that often have Republican-controlled state trifectas. That's why those states keep pushing voter suppression laws that hit us the hardest. Even then, state Democrats, civil rights groups, voting rights advocates, and even the DOJ have filed lawsuits to challenge or block these laws. That's why the Voting Rights Act was so important. The floodgates were opened when it was weakened in 2013. And we haven't held a 60-vote Senate majority to overcome filibusters since then, except for one month in 2015.
