Im not sure if its an American thing, but I was confused as to why she was putting pasta in the "soup".

Im not sure if its an American thing, but I was confused as to why she was putting pasta in the "soup".
She was trying to make chicken noodle soup, it's a staple from childhood here. usually get it when your sick.

Problem is she only did step one of the process and then ate like she was done.
First you make a stock by boiling your chicken and vegetables, (along with herbs and spices she left out)
Then you remove the chicken, and strain the broth into a separate container.
in a new pan you add fresh onions carrots garlic thyme and bay leaves plus any other seasoning you like, saute it until just before they start brown, then add back the broth you made and simmer everything, then you add cut up chicken, (i like to use cut baked or rotissereie chicken) and your noodles and simmer until al dente.

and thats just the basic simple version, not even a fire recipe. somehow she fukked that up and is basically just eating bland broth with noodles

Unless there's dirt on it you should not be rinsing chicken. Any bacteria will be spread around your sink, counter, or wherever water splashes. Cooking kills bacteria, water carries it.

That soup did not have flavor because she didn't add seasoning. Should have poached the chicken with garlic, peppercorns, maybe ginger, vegetables, etc. Saute the veggies and season them. Add them together, further season, add herbs, bullion, etc. Every layer of a dish should be seasoned individually or it'll be bland.

we generally remember eating canned chicken soup traditionally and thats made with noodles,

but noodles are just an Asian version of pasta. both are just unleavened dough made into shapes.

btw the canned stuff isn't good just used for when you're sick and can't keep solid food down.
