Your chances are worse given the stage of infection in the woman, what strain of HIV she has (those common in developed countries tend to lower transmission rates), her viral load, whether you are circumcised, whether she's on any treatment, her general health, whether either of you has other stds, and the number of times you have intercourse.

The partner she received a sentence for infecting had unprotected sex with her multiple times.

She had unprotected sex not long after her diagnosis (one of the riskier periods).

She infected him with a strain that's rare in Europe.
