What hes referring to is controlled burns of underbrush but heres the issue , controlled burns are pretty manpower intensive for one. Getting the permits aren't trivial, weather has to cooperate too.

Also tinder has built up to the point it's dangerous to do. Areas and trees that had been cleaned up by fire now have a good chance of killing all the trees if they go up. Deadfall, old brush, etc is going to burn hot and long when it goes up. And using machines/equipment to do so is very expensive

So no, California Wildfires arent just a matter of "theyre not doing anything to stop it".

Nevermind the fact that the Entire West Coast and Mountain States are infamous for dry summers and we have tons of trees out here, whereas Florida is a fukking greenhouse during the summer, humid and damp.
