Dope af homie

This is the key part though

The Negro League came out of Black men wanting to play and the league/teams to be owned by fellow Black men - due to White people and their racism/WS.

=

They could not play in the MLB, NFL etc.

This is the whole point. We want to be in and dominate the leagues making the most money, which are these leagues, the leagues that are recognized as the leading leagues in sports.

Understood.

But, my point is he could have used that same statement - as a statement of Black empowerment using Black History to do so.

Making those players and others who are Black see they can build a Black global league that is recognized, respected and more successful than the those in power right now. And most importantly, be Blacked owned.

I feel you, that's a good point breh.

But a question: do you think. No let me rewind, two questions:

1. Do you think it makes sense from a business point of view to create an all black, all black owned league - considering you need white viewers to get ESPN to say 'ok we'll give you x million'? Just PURELY talking business.
2. Do you think we should do what cacs did? If cacs said 'no black people in our league' and 50 years later we create a league and say 'no white people' are we not as fukked up? (And I hate racist cacs, trust me)

Well, he is a Negro so he will always play in the Negro league. I know wealthier people than him and their connections and ability to move in the world of business is because of people that look like them, i.e. White.

Same goes for Asians. Asians can play in the big leagues because Asians as a group have built themselves up to be actual players in that market.

But... Money is segregationist and I wouldn't listen to dumbasses that say it's not.
Money = resources = power.

One lie our positive leaders sold us concerning business is, selling to black people. That's not how competition works. You want to extract wealth from the other groups and bring it to yours. Why extract wealth from your group?

In other words, sell products that eurasians want to drain their money.
You're right, but Black products should also be sold to Black consumers, with their needs in mind (like hair products).
That way, its not just Black wealth being cycled, its also other groups' wealth.

Thats one of those things that sound good in theory but make no sense in practice.

A culture is the means & ways that a society meets it's various needs in a given environment.
The cultural production that comes about as a result of the above is the economy
Excess production above and beyond a societies needs are goods marked for export as some other societies luxury good

I.E. Those two things("negro leagues" & "global leagues") are not antithetical
The "negro leagues" as he calls it is your local economy while the "global leagues" is simply excess goods you sale as a luxury on the world market.

BASIC EXAMPLE:
Black music is a cultural production made to meet the needs of a given population("negro leagues")
The music industry takes those goods and sales them worldwide as a luxury good("global leagues")

This kind of ass backwards thinking is part of the reason black people don't own our own music industry :martin:

If you have the negro leagues in front of you then...

  • Buy cameras
  • Film games
  • market & distribute those games world wide(Europe, Japan, China, Korea, Brazil, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, India, etc etc)
Now you have a global entity:myman: ...rooted in a valued cultural product that you create & control:ufdup:

Don't get me wrong I'm proud of the brother:hubie: ...but rooting for him to make that power move:ufdup:

:patrice:
Lack of resources, lack of respect for black institutions, won’t help you grow

:francis:
"Kinda vague"

Lack of resources in terms of what?
  • (raw cash, talent pool, material assets, what,.... Expound please)
"lack of respect for black institutions" ...as evident by what actions?
  • (are you talking about a "white man ice is colder" mentality?)
What exactly wont help you grow?
  • (The people themselves[inherently] ...or the aforementioned issued listed in spite of the people themselves actually wanting to help)

Expound please, the reply is kinda vague.:patrice: It doesn't have to be a term paper:whoa: But 13 words isn't exactly clarifying your position.:hubie:
