Do you guys who buy vinyl also buy cds? I buy cds and I've been thinking about getting a record player to go along with a home shelf system but I dunno if I would buy the cd and the vinyl

i got both. it depends on the music wheter id get the vinyl or cd. my rap vinyls are basically 80s/90s or instrumental. otherwise ill buy the cd, im not spending more money to get a wack vinyl. but most of my vinyls are 50s-80s pop, jazz, r&b, soul, disco, rock and electronic.

Pick up one of those carbon fiber anti static brushes while you're at it. It shouldn't be more than $10. It will help remove some of the dust from the grooves and reduce static build up

I'm about to get back into vinyl. Strictly r&b, jazz and vintage hip hop tho

You will not regret it bra. And you will not just get into r&b, jazz and vintage hip hop. shyt is addictive as fukk. What I found getting back into vinyl that I did not expect, I really started to listen to full albums again.

I marvel at what the vinyl format did for music. It's actually amazing how it transformed what the "album" could be and showed artists that they could continue to experiment and be as free as they wanted when making music. With all that said, I'll probably never listen to an album on vinyl of my own volition. I can't see myself going through all the steps to do so and then on top of that with all the maintenance of the equipment, that's just not me.

I've always listened to albums all the way through. Grew up with that Sony Discman and about 5 CDs to my name. There's no way that I can give up the freedom that the ipod has given me. I purchase the majority of my music on CD. I have vinyl but only if it's the only physical format that the music is available in. I try to purchase all my vinyl new and keep it that way because I don't have a player. I probably won't buy one either. I just don't care. My children can do with it what they please. I won't front, I do like when the vinyl comes in different colors.

For anyone who knows, isn't new vinyl cut from the digital masters? For that matter, isn't the majority of the music created in the digital workspace? I only ask because people lose their shyt about having newly released albums on vinyl but isn't the vinyl and the CD duplicated from the same digital master source?

I maybe selling my vinyl,...
thinking real hard about it.

hit me, if you have some ideas about what you want.
all are either first day cops, with no wear.
imports, or just plain vanity pieces....

when, I say first day cops..
I mean like bigger and deffer, all the way to whatever you can think of that is not some bullshyt, on the rap side.

if it is a second pressing,..it is sumfin rare.

if I don't have it on vinyl.
It is because it was during the tape Walkman era.
before I started back buying vinyl in 92.

so, most shyt from like 88-92.
I may not have a first day cop.
or I may have it and it is a second pressing reprint.

some stuff I have an emotional attachment to.
so, I may not let it go, but you can still ask and see what's to it.

hit me on the pm.

vinyl creates warmth...so, regardless, if it is a digital recorded album.
it still will wang harder on vinyl because of the warmth and analog connections.
