i was gonna post this in the tunnel but i figured booth could help me. so i have a decent collection of vinyls but i can only play them at a friends house because he has a player. i want to grow my collection but i need a player, its ridiculous i cant play my own shyt.

ive been looking at different players online over the weekend and have narrowed it down to the audio technica lp60. all the reviews about it are mostly positive. i know its not the best player on the market, but its only gonna be used every once in a while so at that price its basically perfect. any of yall have experience with it? any other around $100 i should look at?

i like the process of playing the vinyl. its not like going thru itunes and finding random tracks.

the vinyl itself is art :wow:

then setting the needle :takedat:

knowing what rpm to use :whew:

hearing the scratch before the track plays :ahh:

flipping the vinyl after 3 or 4 songs :noah:

people are too disconnected to music and vinyl forces you to actively care about what your listening to. thats why i love them.

I wish I had the money for a good quality system, but right now I just stick to buying vinyl for collecting and supporting the artist.

i'm going to get into collecting vinyl one day soon. i started years ago but had to get rid of them when i moved. i think the actual player isn't that much of a deal if you're just playing records every now & then but the speakers and amp etc that go with it is what makes the difference.

you can get the best turntable ever but if the needle is a piece of shyt, you just lost the tables value.

yeah im seeing this could be an expensive venture :lupe:

its worth it for me, but now i want at least a direct drive table. the lp120 is perfect but now im expecting to spend another 100 or more on the cartridge/stylus

i think that if you're not going to be using it to DJ or make beats, then just buy a decent cheap table and spend the money on a dope needle and a speaker system. :manny:

i have a Numark TTX. 2 of them. I got them in 04 and still have them. I think they're cheap now.

what are you looking to spend on it?

no more than $500 for the table setup. i got speakers already. really just a basic table that will last for a few years and do some light scratching.
