Busta Rhymes has opened up about one of his most life-changing moments.

The 51-year-old rapper, who has lost some 100 pounds, revealed it was an intimate moment the helped spur his dramatic health makeover.

The Beach Ball artist's weight topped 300 pounds during the pandemic.

'One night I was getting ready to have, make, you know...I was getting ready to have an intimate moment with my ex,' he explained to Men's Health.

The BET award winner described how he felt saying, 'I felt like I was having like an asthma attack—but I don’t have asthma.'

The hitmaker left the bedroom and walked to the living room where he used deep breathing to try to relax.

'That was scaring me so much that it was a mindf**k, because I had to stay calm and make sure she didn’t hear me panic or hear me struggle to breathe. I’m butt-ass naked in the living room, trying to calm myself down.'

When the YUUUU rapper returned to his bedroom, his ex shared how scared she was as well.

'She was like, “Yo, this is not who I fell in love with. You gotta lose this weight. This breathing is scaring me... I need you to get back to who I fell in love with.”'

An interaction a few days later when his son slapped his belly instead of returning a fist-bump added fuel to the fire.

'Those are two moments that really made me say, “Right, I gotta fix all of this.”'

The Soul Train award winner began a new diet and workout regimen.

He also took care of some medical procedures he had been putting off.

'I also had a 90 percent blockage in my throat because of polyps on my vocal cords, and my breathing was bad,' he said.

'I was also scared about surgery for the polyps on my vocal cords because my voice is how I feed my family—the voice is the dragon,' he claimed.

'I ran from the surgery as long as I could,' he said, disclosing his concerns the outcome could affect his voice, 'but after that weekend I saw the doctor and he looked at my throat and he said I could die in my sleep. That’s when I got surgery and started to get back in shape.'

The 6'1" artist shared a before and after photo on Instagram in 2020 writing, 'DON’T EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!! LIFE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!!! MY DEDICATION IS DIFFERENT!! I WOULD NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM AND NOT BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!! I RESPECT MYSELF TOO MUCH AND I RESPECT Y’ALL TOO MUCH!!! I’M ONLY HERE TO INSPIRE!!'

Dude was frail in the 90's. Then roided in the early 2000s. That was a weird phase. Timbo, Dre, busta..dudes were using roids for no reason but then again they were hittin that age where you desperately try to cling on to your looks and physique. That last ditch effort before accepting :flabbynsick:.

This might work for a Lil bit but doesn't seem like it'll last.

Yeah, as a shorty, playing in the front yard of the crib
Fell down, and I bumped my head
Somebody helped me up and asked me if I bumped my head
I said, "Yeah"
So then they said, "Oh, so that mean we gon', you gon' switch it on 'em?"
I said, "Yeah, Flipmode, Flipmode is the greatest"
Knowing as a shorty, I was always told
That if I ain't gon' be part of the greatest
I gotta be the greatest myself

:wow:

Above the fray.

*We're cracking jokes, but great that Busta made the decision to save his life. 300 lbs is a LOT of weight to be carrying around.

I'm certain that many L.O.N.S. fans are his age and going through the exact same thing. The before and after pictures and health scare details might cause them to take their health more seriously.
