And you know what all these countries have in common (save Sudan)….

Former French Colonies. Françafrique rears its head again.

They need to get the French influence outta there man.
Mali conflict and French intervention there expanded a quagmire that now has touched every country in the Sahel. Already were poor countries, but conflict has greatly heightened communal tensions and violence, while military forces are taking heavy casualties with no clear political end in sight. What is interesting is in some of the cases (see Mali) the military is taking on a very anti-French posture. It’ll be interesting to see if same follows in Burkina.

This is what I’m hoping though I’m somewhat doubtful. But I really hope so.

Guess this is just france installing younger leaders...

gotta wonder how much long this shyt lasts tho... people in those francophone countries have to be getting fed up with france

Seems like Mali was. But after that ECOWAS fiasco, I think those Francophones countries really want to be up under France. At least the leaders certainly do.

Problem is, none of those countries seem to have a military industrial complex or just a state-level means to make their own weapons. So even if francophones rejected France, then what? Beg them for assistance and get screwed even worse? Or just get screwed by another colonial power?

Russia for weapons.
China for FDI.

Let them diversify.

Ohh please, this is the same line of reasoning France uses to continue to exploit Francophone Africa (not directed at you but in general).

France just needs to GTFO. The US president gets elected and his first foreign trips are to the UK, EU, Canada etc.

French president gets elected and his first trips are to Mali, Senegal, CIV etc. French out here sabotaging the Eco single currency unit.
