:mjlol: That's what they said in Cuba breh. The only thing happening would be the rich getting richer, you would have women lining up to suck some Illuminati dude's d*ck for a loaf of bread :heh: In the next 15-25 years cheap manual labor in developed countries will be phased out with robots. It's only gonna make sense in places like East Timor or Bolivia to use manual labor. It's about to be a whole lot more poor people, get your certs up :wow:
they speak portuguese in east timor too :mjpls:

get your management skills while you still can brehs

:patrice:I dont think you can compare the two.
We are talking about a drastic reduction in production cost* across the board, and a constant increase in production... the like of which have never been seen before.

What good is increasing production in the face of falling demand

With unemployment tripling, who will be able to afford roboburgers

Hypercapitalists, libertarians and pretty much anyone who 100% identifies with a theoretical ideology just cant seem to think past the talking points they are fed

Without scarcity, the need to 'afford' it will vanish. It will be full on socialism... the good kind.

There seems to be this unsaid assumption that with an endless supply, there will still be people left in the cold for whatever reason :patrice: I'm a bit more optimistic :manny: or naive if you prefer.

Without scarcity of what? Accelerated automation without coordinated adaptation = INCREASED scarcity, of employment for those without skills. So I'm not sure what youre talking about homie.

You're talking like everybody is an owner. Unless the burgers I am selling are from a company in which everybody is a universal shareholder, the result = more for me, none for you :birdman:

Let's assume your in a town with a population of 50K, and you are selling gourmet burgers for to 50% of the population, of which 10% are burger flippers:

*Assuming burger cost is $10, and labor cost is 5 dollars, and sales of 100 burgers/day ---> 100* 5= $500 net profit/day

Now assuming burger cost is $10, machine labor cost is 2 dollars, and sales are now 90 burgers/day (burger flippers out of a job) ----->90*8 = $720 net profit/day

The man makes more money, thus he he needs less customers, and since burger flippers have such small purchasing power, the owner doesn't bat an eye. In fact, quite the opposite, with machine labor, that requires little to no maintenance, insurance, workers comp, worker turnover, and all that other bullsh*t, I can focus on higher margins. Let's assume the burger owner sells 25 burgers a day at $20, with the same $2 cost. 25*18 = $450, he's making almost the same money as he was originally with a hell of a lot less headache. What you end up with is the rich selling to the rich because the margins are so high, selling in volume is unnecessary. And because it's a machine, I don't need steady work. You need an order, I just flip a switch :manny:, so unless you have a high level irreplaceable skill that produces a high margin/rare product, you will be replaced by a machine eventually. There's a lot of mechanical/electrical engineering jobs than can be replaced with some code, a tester, and a 3D printer :wow: We don't live in a truly capitalistic society, we live in a socialist economy with capitalistic influences. In our society insider trading is illegal, monopolies are legal, there are minimum wages, I could go on and on. Robot workforce is a quiet soft way by the top to further make the masses powerless. You have to realize you live in a matrix. The real world is eat, f*ck, reproduce, die. All you need is land, access to water, and a female. But somewhere along the line some smart guy figured out people will give up their basic rights/functions for creature comforts. You're poor because you depend on someone else to provide you food, water and shelter, as long as that's the case the 1% will always run your life. More and more people rent, it's difficult to find readily available clean water anymore, most food is produced by megaglobal corporations. They've eliminated the need for barter. Once they convince you suckers to except a source controlled medium of payment (e.g. electronic currency), you might as well come with a pink slip stating you belong to XYZ NWOer :wow:
