We can have 39M in cap space if we trade these cats JUST for future picks.

So we can be a player for a top tier talent like Whiteside or Conley...shyt...even Durant....but it really seems like we're gonna sit on our hands.

We could also stretch calderon and dunleavy and clear about 7.5 mill more if we can't find any takers for them. If we get snell and his bump out of here we can be at about 35 mill considering cap holds.

But it seems once again, they going carrot in front of the donkey on the fans and will have us anticipating some free agency splash next off season, in a situation where now more than ever any free agent will be hesitant to come here and having max space is no longer leverage because everyone has it.

It's why I said in order for their plan to work, jimmy has to go to levels where people are saying he top 5 in the league and hoiberg shows he can really coach, other wise like all the other off seasons where we gear up to hit that free agency home run we are going to strike out again and be forced to overpay for mediocre guys that keep us treadmill. It's not impossible that jimmy makes that leap, just feels unlikely

The question I ask myself is, if we suck, and we would need to in order to get a top pick, and it's going to be about 3-6 winning situations that can clear 30 mill for blake, why in the living hell would blake come here? He not close to jimmy or anyone on our roster, we can't offer winning, what would be the benefit of coming here?

It's another reason you keep rose, you keep your flexibility. Blake would much rather go to new York and join melo rose and porzingas. Even with jimmy your asking a superstar to join a rebuilding process even with a top 3 pick. Why would they do that with so many options for them to choose?

That's why you keep rose, if rose balls out you can sell him and blake on forming a big 3 with jimmy and being a legit threat to the cavs, or if rose falls short you have the money to go to westbrook and blake and say come join jimmy.

Now, we almost certainly have to tank, only have enough for 1 max, and I can't see any superstar coming into a rebuilding situation unless you trade for them.

Kc reporting that the bulls have calderon penciled in as the starting pg. And they plan on playing doug at the 4.

If what was reported is true, that we looking into adding evan turner, looks like taj jimmy and possibly niko could be on the way out.

Or it could be more of kc getting sent off by his "sources" which happens every off season to him lol

I'm just going by what I have heard they're doing. Just by deciphering comments, this what the beat writers collectively said this week. Try to be good enough to make the playoffs and maintain double max space for next season. I don't know how they plan on making the playoffs without making any big free agency moves though that extend past next summer and affect that capspace. If teams like NY and LA spend this offseason heavy, and let's say Rose works out in NY and they max him next summer, we would have double max money and not have to worry about the only two bigger markets than us.
