OT rule could be changed to if you score the TD and convert a 2 point conversion from further out (10 yard line), then you get the auto win.

That way, there's at least risk and a decision to make for the team with the first possession. Go for the win and risk not getting it and the other team winning with a TD and extra point FG, or take the extra point yourself and play it out and let the best team win.

But yeah, the first possession TD and its over shyt gotta go. Especially in the no defense era. Its literally like deciding the game at the coin flip.
