I think the key traits to look at to see that Buddy is far more of a better prospect than J.J. is
A. Ability to rebound and size. In less minutes, Buddy avg 3 more rebounds per game which shows Buddy's active outside of just ball screens like J.J. Buddy is nearly the same height but is five inches longer and 25 pounds larger out of college. That's a massive difference. Size was one of J.J. big issues out of Duke.
B. J.J. in his best season took 1.5 more FGA per a game and was less efficient. Now that might seem small but Buddy TS rates with the best scorers in CB of all time like Richmond and others. That's something too look into. Both were exceptional scorers in college.
C. Every metrics states that Redikk was a more effective college scorer. He went to the line 7.1 times a game which for his style of play in college is normal. Had more assist and wasn't as turnover prone but you have to consider the teams personnel and coaching. Duke during Redikk's time was one of the best teams in the land. OU has only one NBA prospect which is Buddy. Not to mention coaching as well. Defensively, Hield rates as a superior defender even if he only rates as an average potential defender. He still has less issues than J.J. had. For all of the wow factor, Hield advanced numbers blew J.J. out of the water. Where he was 4-5 points better in categories such as WS, EFF, and TS%. Hield has his questions but he's really a clearly better prospect than Redikk.
The Richmond one is where you get sticky. I won't touch that one.
