I honestly feel like if more people studied Buddhism the world would be a much better place. Every other religion spews intolerance and division (whether directly or indirectly) It doesn't really contradict anything we know to be true in the field of science. Not having any jealous sky daddies in the sky to worship helps it also. I never met an arrogant Buddhist, They're always so nonchalant about everything.
Buddhism would also be a far better choice for the black community than Christianity or Islam. It would probably help decrease the murder rate too (black atheist are such a minority that the large majority of nikkas catching bodies must be christian/muslims)
Christianity and Islam thrives off hatred of those not like them (whether its simply calling them fools or calling for their death, its all the same)
Buddhism would be the ultimate anger management imo. And we need that more than any other ethnicity right now.

but i agree Buddhism is prolly the closest "religion" to the truth. i dont see it promoting more peace, but at least it would stop all this nonsense about heaven and hell. something large in the black community (which your not part of) is the "devil" and how he influences people to do bad things. i would be happy if people accepted that others are born with certain tendencies, homosexuality for example, and let them be. it would definitely help with the discrimination in society.
