The Bucks can’t do this and tank, though. Why, you ask? Great question. They don’t own their future draft picks. The Bucks have been wheeling and dealing to win another title for so long that they don't have control of their own first-round picks until 2031. The Pelicans have control of the next two drafts. The Hawks have 2027. Portland has 2028 and 2030 control. Washington gets 2029. So, tanking wouldn’t do them any good.

Milwaukee's outlook is bleaker than CLE's when Bron left the first time.

Only positive is that the Bucks will at least be able to get assets back for Giannis after he moves on... CLE got nothing, but ironically enough, selected 1st in the Draft 3 times after Bron left and in the top 6 a few times to turn things around. Mobley and Garland were top 5 picks if I'm not tweaking.
