I just read his book again. That gimmick was really an all timer.

Smart man, but I also see how his perspective on life influenced this. He didn’t ever want what most wrestlers want: fame and championships. He just wanted the match of the night. WWE allowed it from day one so he has nothing to complain about with them. He’s clearly said it’s the same thing here in AEW, he just wants to wrestle.
