Skate got a little more Paak influence but the shameless leaning on music from an era past is getting old, moreso from Bruno. Can they get a hit making contemporary sounding music? I’m meh on this project, glossing up 70’s soul/funk for pop audiences is feeling a bit derivative

I mean Jazmine Sullivan had to make an album about hoeing to get shine put here smh. I’d be ok if more music in this lane was popping, Bruno don’t have to be the one doing this by himself

He’s not the only one doing it - saddiq did it for 3 albums, Amy whinehouse and Adele did it, tuxedo/Mayer hawthorn, robin thicke, and others. And Bruno has done it for two albums in a row and now this will be the third.

lastly, y’all who say Sullivan’s album was about hoing clearly only looked at the title or skimmed songs, it’s about the full lifecycle of dating and the ups and downs of it/being single.
