If his contract expired he'd probably be able to leave for a couple of years and have more freedom to show his wrestling ability. I agree he doesn't need to burn any bridges though as that WWE option for him can be something long term after he finishes wrestling cause he does the comedy stuff well too and is a good character. It depends how much wrestling he has left in him, in WWE I don't see him ever getting what he deserves, in AEW he may get to at least put on some more great matches, he's better than most casual fans would think. I didn't realize he was 47 though, so I can understand why getting that cheque makes sense, depends what he still has to offer and what he wants to achieve wrestling wise, if he's done then staying makes sense.
I stopped watching the WWE for like 5-7 years once they curved r-truth and put the title on the miz of all people.

I only watch occasionally. The backstage news and whatnot is more interesting than the actual product imo.
I was always interested to know what was Vince plan for the WWE title scene if the punk stuff didnt happen in '11. Clearly it was just buying time to mania 28 w/ Dwayne. We saw Truth get a month program, we'd probably get a 3/4 month ADR program w/ Cena.
