Yeah. Kevin Smith had the worst experience possible with Bruce Willis, and it was his DREAM to work with him. Here is the email Joe Carnahan wrote after leaving the film due to creative differences:

You had a potential Oscar-winning film with maybe the best script in Hollywood but because you’re a coward and a dumb c— you now have an untested, second-time director and an arrogant, lazy, aging action star that will run that poor kid into the ground.

Not even surprised, apparently he was a huge a$$hole to Kevin Smith and pretty much trolled him on set and refused to cooperate and would occasionally just tell him what they would be shooting during the day.
