Just decided to watch this on MAX this past weekend... Show is dope af so far... I'm only on ep 4 of season one but I can tell this is binge worthy....

Binged watched the series, but forgot to comment in the thread..
So my thoughts may jump around..

-Not my type, but i appreciate the random naked Asian chicks
-Maybe it's the look or some of the comedy, but Young Jun reminds me of Chris Rock
-The created lingo was cool: sticky, chop, pond, duck, cross the salt
-Young Jun & Ah Sahm smoked like chimneys. They were lighting up in damn near every scene
-Hong
. But it pissed me off with how easy Ah Sahm took him out. I thought he was gonna be a younger skilled version of Ah Sahm that actually WANTED to be a Tong member
-Mai Ling gotta die, there's no redemption for her
-Harry from 21 Jump Street!! He also directed some episodes
-Li's brother. Damn i still remember him in Only The Strong
Li got played. Badly.
-I know this series mostly focused on Asians, but Black people took too many Ls on all sides
-Chao was a great character with how he played all sides. The daughter part was messed up. Hopefully if there's a season 4, he was found & taken to a doctor before he bled out
-Leary. Talks all that 'chink' stuff, but really doesn't hate them
-The Irish. They were definitely on that bullshyt back then (look up the draft riots during the war)
-Bill's wife got those crazy eyes
-I like how they deal with the language issue. The Chinese are speaking to each other in there native language, but to the viewer, it's perfect English. And when they speak to non-Chinese (exception Ah Sahm), it comes off as broken English

This migrated over to Netlix and I just finished binging. I enjoyed this thoroughly, it's well layered and thematic.
Ah Sahm is DIFFERENT
Wang Chao's end made ZERO sense
when the hell did dude get out?
Remember when he was facing the bars in prison (season 2 I think) and he noticed that the bars were loose in the concrete at the window. Guessing he broke out from there.
They could've at least followed up on that. That was just bad writing.
Currently binging Peaky Blinders and I see Ah Sahm is in Season 5. Dude has instantly become my favorite Asian actor

So many times, wherever I go, people come to me and say thank you for Warrior. Now I know the true meaning of an actor. It goes way above entertainment. Season 3 is our last season, we don't have the chance to continue the story. But still so grateful . Thank You .

According to the link the show had a dramatic drop off in viewership after the first season then leveled off for season 2-3.

Had a feeling that might be the case . It was in the Netflix Top 10 some, but not for a crazy amount of time like Suits and I have no idea what barometer Netflix needs the ratings to hit in order to get another season. Seemed like a semi expensive show as well.
I think Heels could be in a similar boat.
