The 80's memories of Betsy Head pool, getting schemed on by older dudes standing outside of Simon's while pops laid in the cut waiting for them to try and rob Ski, riding on back of the B60 bus on Rockaway, shoot outs at Seth Low, Van Dyke, and watching people get vicked on Pitkin. Aaah the good Ol Crack Era days of da Ville

Videos like this always make me think about when ppl started rolling with the "NYC is the greatest city in the world" shyt.. it has to be a recent thing, cuz 60s/70s/80s shyt looked like war torn Poland
shyt looked like streets of rage in real life

Nycs highest murder rate was in 92. Nyc started to change in the mid to late 90's

But in the 70's and 80's Jimmy Carter declared the south Bronx a disaster area

Historians said it was in worse conditions then auschwitz :merchant:

Yea that's why I asked and that virgin in here in his feelings over a simple question
70s/80s shyt looked like Detroit, Times Square was full of drug addicts and hookers. Then that demon Giuliani started locking everyone up, they turned Times Square into a tourist trap and suddenly it's the greatest city on earth. I love NYC btw I was just asking when that title came to be used :manny:

You didn't live in the ghettos :mjlol:

Never said that, I was responding to a post about NYC, and I was born and grew up here in the early 80's so Im old enough to know what it was like. You could be anywhere and get snatched up off the street in a second. I'd ask you where you from but I really don't give a fukk tbh :heh: all I know is that you prob from somewhere in Cali and got attracted to a NY thread like how most of you dudes usually do.

Genocide...still goes on today
I wouldn't go that far, Brownsville has always been a dump. In the early 1900s it was mainly Jewish and Italian and it was still a really fukked up place to live in. Some of the most notorious mob gangsters were born and raised in Brownsville. Its actually getting better now but not for good reasons, its getting ready to be gentrified.
