It's true that brown rice isn't the tastiest, but white rice is a total waste and has no real nutritive value. If you're working out seriously, you should avoid it completely.

I love both. But avoiding it completely is not accurate. You can have it post workout. :shaq:

I love white rice, too, better than any other kind, but the truth hurts- it's got nothing on brown rice as far as fiber, vitamins, minerals, etc. :sadcam:

It's probably the my least favorite fitness sacrifice so far.

Good brown rice recipe:

1/2 cup of brown rice
1/2 cup of green lentils
2 cups low sodium chicken salt
cinnamon stick
cloves

brown all that to a boil in a heavy bottomed pot and simmer on low for about 45 min see if you need to add salt after cooking.

Just white. It's not bad for you in the sense of having unhealthy things in it, but it actually has very little that's good for you and would help you. It's like empty calories (besides the carbs, of course, but they're simple carbs, and that's not the good kind.) Brown rice at least has fiber and several different vitamins and minerals in it, along with more complex carbs (the good kind.)
