Not trying to argue with anyone. I live in Chicago and it's an open but rarely acknowledged secret that the mob still has a great deal of power politically and have a lot of influence over construction and related industries. They've legitimized in the sense that the people running their companies are not active made members. Now it's the kids with MBAs etc. But the power they retain bc of their mob ties etc is what allows them to build their businesses. Goldman Sachs and other large companies use these dirty companies bc otherwise the unions under their control would shut down their developers/projects, not bc they do the best work. I guarantee their projects were significantly over budget, with twice as many laborers as you might expect Then I bet they ended up stiffing a bunch of the subcontractors and just kept the money. Being in the mob is a license to be a scumbag. And in the same way that this son was a scumbag bc of his upbringing, I guarantee you the father was no different.
