The offensive performance has been on Russ as well and not all on Hackett. Russ just does not look like the same player as he did in previous years and I mentioned that the first few weeks in the season when everyone insisted that he just needed more time. Everyone in that organization deserves blame for what's went down.
More times than not, a team is not going to let their HOF QB walk unless they think they're either washed as a player or more of a product of their system.
Russ is not being scapegoated out here when he's been given the benefit of a doubt and coddled arguably more than any other QB in the league outside of Brady and Rodgers over the years.
Were you watching those games? The first few games? There's a reason that Hackett, the HC, had the playcalling taken from him. Have you ever heard of a head coach getting the playcalling TAKEN from him?
He is being scapegoated just by virtue of you originally saying he deserves blame for now because of how he acted in Seattle. In football, outside of Big Ben, players get let go all of the time regardless of their past standing not because they're washed or not, but that's just how it works in player evaluation where the team moves on first......and it's not because they're washed. It's because they think they have their replacement ready. That's how Montana ended up in Kansas City. That's how Emmitt ended up in Arizona. That's how Jerry Rice ended up in Oakland. That's how Peyton ended up in Denver. That's how Favre ended up in Minnesota....and more recently that's how Brady ended up in Tampa and JJ Watt ended up in Arizona. All of those players balled out after they left their original squads. Green Bay was willing to do it with Aaron too this past off season.
