Part of it is probably genuine in the sense that a lot of people hit rock bottom and turn to religion. But I think another part is a long con for marriage. She knows she can't keep doing what she was doing, she knows American athletes are never gonna do right/settle down...so what if you go after a black Muslim soccer player who makes a bunch of money in Europe.
