It shouldn't be unrealistic at all . . the only thing that makes Khan more in the neighborhood of being likely is Haymon - otherwise, Kell Brook is the only other title-holder in the division, Mayweather should grab that before he retires
Mayweather has already said he's going to drop all the belts. He doesn't care about the titles.

Brook isn't a big draw, and he can make more fighting other guys

He said that . . but has he done it? :usure:

Retiring as the unified champion of the most competitive division is a great footnote for his career, a great way to go out. I don't think giving that up over sanctioning fees is a good idea . . plus he was saying all types of stuff after winning the Pacquiao fight, his head was spinning - in that interview he said he was up all night and didn't sleep for 3 days, during those 3 days he already changed his mind about rematches, etc. - you can't expect someone who just finished a fight to make decisions like that, we'll see what happens but I'd like to see him make the Kell Brook fight happen, Amir Khan doesn't deserve it + he can probably use a lot of leverage at the table with Kell Brook and essentially take a huge share of the revenue, the UK money would be big

Floyd already vacated the WBO belt. He had already made an agreement with the WBO before the Pacquiao fight that should he win the belt, he'd vacate it immediately afterwards

So he woudln't be retiring the unified champ anyways

I wonder if this loss of passion for boxing will prove to be Mayweather's downfall

I sometimes wonder that myself.

I always remember my older cousin saying he knew Roy Jones was going to take an L because of that. At the time Roy talked about wanting one last fight with Tyson and then retiring. Any time a fighter talks about retirement, you can't rule out them going out in a bad way :yeshrug:

it should be Brook seeing as Haymon is in the middle of them it wouldn't look right for Floyd to use too much of his leverage at the negotiating table . . they'll probably make a fairer deal then he can get out of a Brook fight
