If you haven't seen this you should watch it.

incredible stuff. Funny how we're the "beacon of democracy" but when it comes to the work place democracy is the first thing we abandon

Yeah, our greed is :gag: especially when you get people from other first world countries calling us out.

here is a clear case where he clearly should raise the wage because he can't fill the position so the market is actually saying the wages are too low to be worth working there

if people just stopped working at places like mcdonalds and walmart they would have no choice but to raise the wages

but props to places like costco who value their employees

so they can freely move through the EU with no restrictions and work in Britain?

Well from what I'm reading the issue isnt really wages, the issue is how much should Britain open up to EU workers, there was a flood of people coming in and then Britain tightened up, and that is what the CEO is complaining about

I think the major takeaway is that some immigration is ok but if it's too much it actually causes increased inequality becuase you have workers with lower wages and increased corporate profits,

I guess people can take it different ways but to me this article is an anti illegal immigration/amnesty article

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they be talking bout those europeans countries not yet part of EU or that have just recently been accepted and them African and South American immigrants trying to make it there. Those people need visas I think, cause they were abusing the system.

translation: Britain was allowing to many Muslims in so they tightened up the immigration policies

theoretically you should pay your employees more to retain them.

McDonalds and wal mart workers protesting need to realize there is pretty much an infinite supply of high school kids that can do their job and will do it for the minimum. That's why their wages are low.

that doesn't mean I'm against raising the minimum wage

Well I wouldn't want Muslims either, but the immediate issue is Romanians and Bulgarians and I guess poorer EU countries
