Is that even true? Why are there so many young people?

60% of 1 billion some Africans is 600 million people under the age of 24 .... why they have so many kids (although, I believe their population rates have slowed in most African countries and continue to slow down) .... probably, because they don't do the birth control/contraceptive thing like Western countries, women haven't entered the workforce like Western countries, religious reasons, and something else I forgot

what's worse is millions more of these young people are born every day, shyt is :lupe:

:usure: I don't know about millions a day...http://www.worldometers.info/..:ld: I think annually we add only about 80 million people for the entire globe, but they are growing though, though slower.. I think the figures I've seen in the next 10 - 20 years there will be about 5 African countries with a 100 million people (Nigeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and maybe Tanzania or Kenya).

If African Americans don't get it by now that the Mother Load of potential success can be found in Africa ... I don't know what will wake them up.... :lawd:

Every HBCU needs to "adopt" 3 or 4 African countries in different regions and form partnerships with schools there so young black folks can see the potential they can step into ..

Me and the @The Nigerian will be doing MollyWatr Africa featuring tribal twerkers.... :skip:

Nah.....I got a trillion ideas...and if I was going to plant a business flag, then theoretically the continent would be a great place to do something one of these days ... :blessed: ......... I know its probably easier said than done .... but you see fresh skyscapers and developments, folks walking around with smartphones, and all these young kids getting education over there......... you best believe we as African Americans would be crazy not to invest and partner up

Example:
If you have an accounting degree ... find out about accounting issues in an African country or the contient as whole. If you got a computer science degree learn about what's popping in that sector. If you have an engineering degree find out what type of consulting firms or new projects they are proposing. Etc Etc Etc. Just take your skills and overlay over Africa...and go from there...

i think she lives in the UK

do you have any actual rebuttal? besides claiming that everybody in africa is a peasant and therefore they are incapable of dealing with capital markets?

She lives in the UK and deems it fit to give advice to the peasants who she doesn't know.

She is a troll.

Rapport : jusqu'à 1400 milliards de dollars sortis d'Afrique en trente ans

To add to this conversation...I'll try to find an article in english but it's a study by the African Development Bank showing that somewhere between 600 to 1400 billion dollars have "leaked out" of Africa in over thirty years, and most of that money has gone to Western countries, mostly through offshore companies, "fiscal engineering" and all of that stuff. Just to put in perspective, that's about Africa's current annual GDP.

So yeah, it makes no sense to pump in "aid" money (most of which goes to western expatriates, specialists, experts, auditing, administration etc anyway) when such large sums of money generated in Africa is just smuggled out. We all know that there are some good projects happening, and some aid is truly useful (I'm thinking of structural help, to reform health or justice systems for example) but a large part mostly benefits middle-men and professionals of that sector.

If we black people were to invest in Africa I think we'd need to do so ASAP before the white corporations do. Google, for example, has invested $12 in energy: Google Makes Its First Renewable Energy Investment In Africa, Puts $12M Toward South African Solar Plant | TechCrunch

yeah she lives in the uk, so what? where does bill gate live
? using your logic, who knows more about africa her or bill "the white savior" gates?

and africa like most places is becoming very urbanized

you referring to africans as peasants kinda reinforces her point and basically shows you dont know what the hell you are talking about

besides petty insults about her hair what exactly is your rebuttal?

Look at this n!gga trying to educate me on Africa when I lived in Ghana for almost 2 years and traveled half of Africa with my pops.

Most Africans are very grateful to people like Bill Gates and not this snob who sits in an air-conditioned house in the UK and spew nonsense from a far.

At least Mr Gates pretends he cares and gives money...Her father is connected to the government...Chances are he is corrupt as fukk.

Her arguments are weak....most African countries can survive without AID.

Again I fail to see what your rebuttal is, what is the significance of you living africa? You don't live there so how would you know anymore than this lady?

So you are saying that the peasants were grateful to their white savior, ok sure but the point is Africans should be grateful to their own government , by relying on aid they ar not creating the capacity to do things themselves

And if africa doesn't need aid all you are doing is agreeing with dambisa, that is her whole point, africa doesn't need aid
