The Emmy Award nominations they like to boast about aside, HBO is really looking flabby. The leftovers was extremely polarizing. Most critics and fans do not like this season of True detective. Both of their shows with Fincher have stalled. And the Game of Thrones had a pretty mediocre season. They better hope Westworld is dope. Their dramas are looking bleak

I watch and enjoy Ballers but it's essentially Entourage: Football Stories

And it's nowhere near as good as True Detective

HBO needs to stop bullshytting with that Fincher directed Utopia. Last thing I read was that they were fighting over the budget...Fincher wanted $100 million and HBO was not budging from $95 million. What the fukk difference does $5 million make when you are talking about those types of numbers?

Im not gonna lie... at first i said give this season a chance and told everyone hating it to fukk off
But... this season was not that good
Not horrible but wasnt up to par with last season..

The real problem with the show was that they thought plot was more important than characterization. Ultimately both of the "mysteries" are pretty terrible but the difference is that in season 1 they had 2 very charismatic and interesting leads (and lets face it, far superior actors). They had way too many main characters this season that you couldn't really make them "come alive" so to speak. Next time they should limit it to about 2 detectives and maybe 1 bad guy and thats it. Characterization is sooooo underated but if you think about it, what really sticks out in a show or movie long after they have ended? Usually the very interesting characters and that is where this season is falling short.........I wasn't too fond of any of these new ones.

I am just really interested to see how Fincher would translate the show for US audiences plus I am still irked that Utopia got cancelled so a version by a director I am a fan of of is a good substitute.
