People say that. It's not thin skinned and they actually try to pressure you to not celebrate July 4. Saying,"we don't celebrate that." It's not thin-skinned to stand on your principles at all.

I don't think black folks as a group really acknowledge Independence Day like that. For most of us I believe it's just a free day to cookout and grill, not some time to think about "American Exceptionalism".

We don't celebrate it as a group, and I don't think we should. Just take it as a free day to kick it.
