SOTD - BYREDO - Tobacco Mandarin

This retails $350 for 50mls

They're insane.

Like all Byredo scents, you pay a lot for very little performance.

And that would be all Kool and the Gang, if the scent itself was out of this world.

Instead, its a light sweet citrus on the top, the aforementioned mandarin, with a tobacco-ish base? motif?
As far as tobacco scents go, it's fine. Not great like Tobacconist/Smoky Tobacco/Tobacco Vanille, but not horrid like Red Tobacco.

This was one of those high dollar decants that I put off for YEARS, before I finally ran out of things to buy curiosity finally took hold.

I only got 2 mls of this, and I think evaporation really did a number on it. 2mls should be about 21 days of wear, but at best I've worn this one other time. It's got maybe one more day in it...

Had the Dua clone of this and was not a fan of a DNA so I figured I just wouldn't even bother wit the OG. Fukked up cuz it sounds so good in theory.

Oud for Greatness - When I first put my nose on it, I was blown away. Beast Mode on top of that....And then it became too much. Good entry point for exploring Oud. It's less of a designer Oud, like Tom Ford's Oud Wood,.

Side Effect - Great notes, but the scent does nothing for me.

DUA - Hit and miss. That particular blend, of MI and Voyage? Interesting.

It's all about the "date" note in this. But the base is doing some good work as well.

I thought this was overhyped when it dropped. Mostly because it was hard to get.
And I thought it was too strong (for me).

I've probably worn it less than 10x, but lately I'm feeling it.

Oud for Greatness to me is a little too strong. Even the clones are powerful (Oud for Glory). The nutmeg and saffron can be a bit much for me (I personally think Haltane is a better version of this DNA)
Now Side Effect is on point and is for me. It's boozy with vanilla, a touch of saffron and cinnamon. Great fall/winter frag.

Dua is legit but really a crap shoot when it comes to their frags. They aren't bad but not gonna lie a lot of them I straight up forget about. The only thing that blew me away off first sniff was their version of MFK-Aqua Universalis Forte.
