All that compliments staff is mostly lie's, most thing people do is give a double take when you smelling nice but full blown compliments, Nah.

I actually get quite a few but usually from older women like 80% of the time, and the rest are from men or people that personally know me like coworkers/family.

In my experience attractive women in your age group generally won't compliment you unless they find you attractive or approachable. At the end of the day a compliment is an invitation for conversation, so people won't give it unless they're comfortable engaging you.
