i've watched a fukkload of movies, but I'm not really into films where the lead is an actress, it's just not me.

so i reckon i've seen about 4-5 streep films only, and in those, she wasn't really the focal point (deer hunter for example).

to the rest of y'all believe the hype?

if you had comprehension skills you'd see i made it clear ive barely even seen any of her movies to see even if she's talented....so i put the question out there. hence the "y'all believe the hype?"

I think so. No one has come close to her body of work Julia Roberts, Demi Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer all fell off. Kate Winslet is the closest and she has not done anything noteworthy in 5 years.

Im not too familiar with her, but she plays the "uptight/eccentric middle aged woman" and its angles REALLY well. She conveys emotion very sincerely

To be honest, I find most actresses sh1tty and cant think of many better than her that are still working

Kate Winslet is great.
