Sony is a fool for not reviving this franchise, look at the success of Ghost Recon, Rainbow six and Ready or Not, there is a hunger for tactical shooters, the franchise might never be as big as COD but I'm sure it would be succesful for sony and give PS players a good online exclusive to play.
