Rutgers is really diverse. I don't know much else about it though.

its a decent place, for a shythole. but i dont get why yould would go from a cuny to a state school, of a different state that you are not a resident of - unless its like uc-b, ucla, michigan or unc

If you really care about business and political science like that, then you should either go to an ivy or a school that has an elite undergraduate business program. Think UVA, Notre Dame or Michigan's undergraduate programs.

But those are all hard to get into. If you can get into Michigan or UVA OOS as a transfer then Columbia would probably rock with you as a tri-state resident.

I'll ignore the fact that this thread wasn't posted in HIGHER LEARNING forum.

Harvard or bust, little nikka :beli:

Or maybe Yale :ehh:

Real talk though, aim for a top 20 (preferably Ivy) college if you're into liberal arts, otherwise you won't find a job (a bit hyperbolic, but largely true)

If u just want to party and get random chicks rutgers is prob the best spot for u. at the std rate but at least u know the chicks are down :shaq:
Plus its an hour train ride to the city; but enough distance where you dont feel like u didnt go anywhere.

-If u bout that academic life more check out Montclair state or TCNJ. TCNJ is always up there with one of the best public colleges and recruiters in the area know the deal. But outside of the books campus life sucks.
- montclair is great for sciences (not sure how good its buisness school is); but the campus life is prob a level below rutgers,

If you never want a job outside of central New Jersey, go to these shyt holes  :gag: :damn:

NYU has a top 10 ugrad business school. Al the investment banks recruit at Stern. These are some dumbass reasons to not consider it.

If you're Black, just go to a top 10 school, Howard, Morehouse or another Black Ivy if you want to get into wall street. Just have a killer GPA and a good mouthpiece at those schools will help.

I actually understand where OP is coming from. I went to a community college and it was boring as fukk. Every time I read about other people's college experiences I get angry at myself for not going through the real college experience of getting drunk and fukking hot girls. Getting an education is super important but having fun at an early age is almost as important (don't want to be a boring old rich guy who regrets not having threesomes in my dorm room).

Anyway, I'm seriously considering going back to school but to study economics/finance/business management. My goal isn't to get a job after I graduate however. I already own and operate an online business but everything I know I learned along the way. I'd like to be formally educated so that I can better manage my business.

:snoop: dude is talking about transferring from a CUNY, brings up UMBC and ODU, says he wants a decent black population, and decent parties....
and the Coli comes up with "you should go to an Ivy" :mindblown:

Trying to major in business is not equivalent to wanting to work on Wall Street. Transfer students aren't the most likely recipients of scholarships. Basically everything in this thread is useless to the OP.

UMBC used to be a commuter school and they're still recovering from that perception. It's a good school, but the administration's focus is on the STEM programs, but you'll get a good education if you're look at something like accounting/econ. But given the whole commuter thing, the campus isn't that traditional college experience. UMBC is close to the city, so you're good on the social scene but Baltimore is better for bars than clubs. Actually, if you're looking for a club scene don't come here :birdman:

I have fam that went to ODU, impression I got was that they just hung out at Norfolk State.

If you're interested in poli sci, you can really just go to any major city and volunteer on political campaigns. A lot of UMBC students intern at Maryland's capital.
Main thing with business is to go to a school with a dedicated alumni base. State schools and HBCUs are good for that, and especially if you go to a school in an area you'd want to live in after you graduate.
