dude is talking about transferring from a CUNY, brings up UMBC and ODU, says he wants a decent black population, and decent parties....
and the Coli comes up with "you should go to an Ivy"
Trying to major in business is not equivalent to wanting to work on Wall Street. Transfer students aren't the most likely recipients of scholarships. Basically everything in this thread is useless to the OP.
UMBC used to be a commuter school and they're still recovering from that perception. It's a good school, but the administration's focus is on the STEM programs, but you'll get a good education if you're look at something like accounting/econ. But given the whole commuter thing, the campus isn't that traditional college experience. UMBC is close to the city, so you're good on the social scene but Baltimore is better for bars than clubs. Actually, if you're looking for a club scene don't come here
I have fam that went to ODU, impression I got was that they just hung out at Norfolk State.
If you're interested in poli sci, you can really just go to any major city and volunteer on political campaigns. A lot of UMBC students intern at Maryland's capital.
Main thing with business is to go to a school with a dedicated alumni base. State schools and HBCUs are good for that, and especially if you go to a school in an area you'd want to live in after you graduate.
