Those are raver jeans after they wrongly misappropriated jnco from hip hop fashion ideals, sir. You talking about in 97-99 in the realm of when raver culture hit its mainstream fever pitch. Meaning when all the bandwagon types tried to fit in fake'n jax. You are not talking in the context to hiphop fashion and culture.
it's funny to see people who still think skinny jeans = skin tight jeans.
you have skinny jeans that are relaxed around the waist and even thigh that just cuts off the excess fabric around the calves and ankles.
dudes not squeezing into "skinny jeans" just like how you don't squeeze into slim suit slacks.
let me find out ya'll wearing your suit pants like this.
Skinny jeans are skin tight jeans though. Slim Cuts are different than skinny, and slim cuts are the fitted.
Generally it has gone like this:
Relaxed - baggy which is extra thigh room, may be wider in the leg
Classic - wider in thigh and takes the shape like your leg, so they'll have a slight taper at the leg opening
Straight - general straight is a true straight leg, so the pant leg is cut straight, all the way down
Classic straight - has wider thigh but straightens out around the knee
Then you got the newer ish
Slim straight - replaced straight but cut it a little tighter. This was typically for the extra pretty boys or the metros. This was the Urkel cut.
Skinny - is that extra tight ish that y'all can't pull all the way up or y'all gotta shimmy into on some female type ish.
But the Classic straight has now replaced the Classic. But in general, it's the 501-style, for those that wear Levis. (I havent in 20 years). Most of us older folk have always worn that style of jean - classic or straight, even as cuts change, we know the style by looking.
That's not true at all. Loose was the fashion every decade except the 70s. And even in the 70's, the pants flared out. Look at the 20's, the 30's, the 40's, the 50's & the 60's. And even in the 70's & 80's, it wasn't that shyt y'all on, it was cut more tailored, but you could move. Even in the 80's is where extra loose started coming in.
I was just joking man lol. Those are raver jeans after they wrongly misappropriated jnco from hip hop fashion ideals, sir. Imma post the originator for you dummies. The guy who made the actual marketing from his own real.impact in the culture for real and in his professional visionary creation of marketing hip hop culture to social to fashion.
Plus how it trickled down from the lo life.
I see y'all do not know shyt. Do not dig in the crate and don't know. So it is time to just give you offbrand lames the real fukk'n answers.
