I hate to say this because it’s not a flaw, but she seemed like one of those bleeding heart types that tried to see the best in people and situations. Sucks to play on this talking point, but she would probably be still alive if she was a bit more cynical and situationally aware

Whether we like it or not, people will see stories like this and will racially profile black men, wrongly or rightly.

In an ideal world, the parole board would be held accountable for any recidivism due their decision.

The problem is, this will have a negative impact on those who genuinely deserve parole. They’ll just avoid releasing anyone if their own freedom/job is on the line.

So it will never happen. It’s messed up but the whole system is not designed to protect civilians or rehabilite criminals. It’s simply there to fill the pockets of the government and 1%.

Crime is an economy and is at the epicentre of capitalism when you really look at it. From white collar criminals, security, 2nd amendment, poverty, to the police, judges, lawyers and prison system. It all starts at the top with the politicians and trickles down to us.

You’re conflating two issues. We’re against over sentencing on non-violent crimes like drug possession, fraud etc. Crimes in which we’re disproportionately sentenced compared to whites.

Why would we be cool with anyone getting a lenient sentence for murder? The judiciary system is slick. They’ll let murderers in our community out on bond or give them pitiful sentences so they can come out and cause more havoc towards black people. Let this have happened to a middle class CAC woman in an affluent area, then the book would’ve been thrown at them.

This is really not hard to understand. As a whole, we detest rapist, murderers, stick up kids etc. Throw the book at these clowns. But, don’t sentence a child to 10 years for stealing candy from a store. Or sentence a teenager to life for having an ounce of weed.
Whilst white college kids get probation for dealing cocaine.

I’m not clairvoyant. I’ve just seen this pattern over and over again.
