I don't think he is either. He thinks he can toe the line as much as possible and he has the congressional and judicial latitude to.
The insidious thing about him turning inward is it's already happening. The markets are down here but healthy everywhere else in the world.
His rich friends will buy now, when things are dirt cheap and when the feds cut interest rates within the next 12 months, the markets will go up and they will be even richer.
Ignoring that, he and the republicans passed a tax plan in his first term that would transfer trillions, with a T, from rich boomers to rich gen x and millennials. keep in mind, that same money could've been taxed and paid in reparations, used for infrastructure projects, or set up universal healthcare structures.
the shyt that we're paying attention to (like tariffs he'll eventually call off and renaming the gulf of mexico) is a red-herring.

It's only progressives talking about this shyt. Especially the tax cuts. AOC and Bernie broke this down because they aren't obsessed with getting their cut of the blood money. They know that this man and the class he is an agent and representative of want to loot this country for every last penny. Republicans are all on code because their philosophy essentially boils down to "fukk everyone else as long as I've got mine".
So when you see them getting yelled at in those town halls, it's nothing but theater. They won't change their minds on voting in line with maga. If anything that hypes them up more. The humiliation motivates them to punish those voters all the more and feel like it's worth putting up with because the tax cuts they'll save hundreds of thousands or millions. Theyll reinvest that money and reap the benefits of the dividends(either in form of rents for properties they'll own) or stocks. They'll double, triple or QUADRUPLE their wealth. They see how Russian oligarchs are living and thinking "why can't I have what they have"
They'll cash out with several millions in the bank and walk away from politics to enjoy a cushy board seat while their constituents can do nothing but watch.
These moves are so bad. He is giving the chinese license to take Taiwan. They have a stronger claim to Taiwan than we have to Panama, Greenland or Canada. I don't know how much more needs to happen but he needs to be removed.
