What government ran entity on this planet doesn't have short comings, mismanagement and other downsides, dog fukker?
it's sad that they've let it get to the point where the average american will hear this and shrug :yeshrug:

why are america's current education results acceptable for the DOE? is it really about the kids, or just an unaccountable job mill for adults?

So now the Feds can say no more funding from us and states have to cover the bill? This will lead to further inequalities as folks with money will pay for better funded private schools and state public schools will suffer tremendously
This is exactly what they are pushing towards. They are pricing the poor out of education and having the affluent and upper middle class children in ritzy charter and private schools.

:dwillhuh:The republicans have majority and they’ll do anything Trump wants.

I hate this trope....

*Sighs* I get it...Republicans are so damn demonic but if they pass every single thing that's involves a piece of paper..

  • The voters are not having that shyt
  • Some Republicans are tired of that fukking orange cracker
  • Law suits
  • Some states especially deep red south low key need the DOE
This is just Trump's patting the ground with his crusty foot because low key he's possibly the worst president we have ever had.

Dude is just a sitting duck trying to prove he got a big dikk, but constantly getting fukked like the oversized coochie he resembles.

:dwillhuh:The republicans have majority and they’ll do anything Trump wants.
dissolving an executive department necessitates passing legislation through both chambers of Congress with a simple majority. However, due to the potential for a filibuster in the Senate, effectively achieving this goal often requires a 60-vote majority to ensure the bill's progression.

Trump can easily do this the right way nut he refuses to follow the law...every decision he has done so far he can do it legally but this mofo in inherently a criminal

No student loans or pell grants for college. A lot of funding for scholarships comes from the federal gov't. Basically means only the rich and upper middle class will be able to go to college, like it was in the old days.

should we also post the horrendous, embarrassing stats that the DOE has allowed to happen in american schools, with zero accountability?

this isn't gonna happen, regardless. trump doesn't have the power

Allowed to happen? The DOE provides funding for schools. The states run the schools for the most part. It's clear you're nothing but a reactionary who leans right despite being a democrat/liberal for some reason, so I knew you wouldn't have an argument here.

This hurts kids. The DOE isn't perfect but the MONEY and programs it provides are invaluable. Most black kids who go to college get a grant or scholarship through the DOE. The only reason disabled kids - especially rural white ones - are able to go to school is because the DOE pays to pick them up/drop them off. You want to make shyt better, reform the DOE. Specifically when it comes to what it allows states to do with federal money. Outright dissolving it will harm children. And further doom black kids.

sadly, this is why Trump and Elon are getting away with talking about this kinda shyt, if not doing it

Dems never want to have this conversation when they're in power. we're just expected to accept that these completely unaccountable agencies can keep failing, and pissing away our money, and we're just supposed to accept that because DC knows better than everyone else

next time the Dems are in power, they need to do something about that

Can someone break this down for me in laymans terms of what this means exactly? As in, what will happen without the DOE?
Most likely red states will teach all types of foolishness since there will be no national standards. They will be able to force Christianity on kids and teach bullshyt such as slaves were immigrants. They will also be able to privatize education most likely.

Glad I'm not having kids, my state has terrible public education. Unfortunately, I still gotta deal with a bunch of remedial kids out here who will eventually become remedial adults, even if they not mine. :beli:

it's pretty hard to defend it as a success :yeshrug:

the waste, bloat, and failure is obvious. can anyone actually defend it as a success? i'd be curious to read
The department of Education biggest expenditures are Pell Grants and the head start program. Pell Grants have been absolutely imperative in lifting Black Americans out of Poverty (I am a Pell grant Student/graduate myself). 72 percent of current HBCU students are currently Pell Grants recipients. Please tell me I don’t have to explain the importance of HBCU’s to you?

In fact many state based college tuition programs tackle on to Pell grants to help with the cost of college. In New York we call it the TAP program. Tap adds on to Pell grants making the CUNY system free at the point of use for New Yorkers and makes the SUNY system very low cost.

Secondly, the Head start program is the biggest poverty reduction program in the education sector. Have you heard of ESL classes?, Free lunch at schools? Special education classes? Lower income day care centers? Those are from the Department of Education.

Stop being obtuse
