Wrong post, but I'm assuming this is why COD all of a sudden went to a bi-yearly model. I wouldn't be surprised if the next COD is a Black Ops remake.

We all know there's a vocal group of hardcore gamers that hate COD and everything about it, and it looks like they finally got what they wanted - COD finally falling off.

Making it bi-annual, exclusive, and putting it on gamepass is a pretty good way to cut its legs off.

Either Microsoft get bold with it and shoot for the stars with exclusivity and risk lowering its mindshare amongst the other multiplayer games or it keeps the status quo and continue to just benefit from the additional revenue streams.

Theres a good reason why EA, Ubisoft, Riot and other companies didn’t care because they see an advantage of growing their multiplayer games if CoD isn’t multiplatform. Stuff like Apex and a Rebooted battlefield can gain even more marketshare.

Idk I disagree with a lot of what you're saying here.

And EA, Ubisoft, etc dont care because they dont sell consoles lol. This is almost entirely inconsequential to them.

We’ll just have to see, but I dont think CoD will be the sales behemoth or control even a 3rd of the mindshare it does now as an exclusive multiplayer title

Phil is the master of double speak :heh: They might leave war zone multiplat and just create a whole new game call Warfront powered by Call of Duty or some shyt :russ: just like how Dodge has the 392 listed as an RT but the engine says powered by SRT

The sales numbers will be lower as a gamepass game and exclusive, but the playerbase will remain and continue to be a juggernaut, and be a definitive system seller.

The chances of another game rising from the ashes of CoD after it built such a dedicated and obsessive fanbase are extremely slim, and if it did exist, it wouldn't be anything that Sony had anything to do with, as that would just be CoD vs. whatever Sony developed. It would have to be an outsider, and none of the outsiders seem up to the task. I seriously doubt the likes of EA or Ubisoft would try to create a CoD competitor this late in the game when they've failed time and time again to do so
