The Nets still do have some leverage here because neither the lakers nor the mavericks have enough cap space this summer to offer Kyrie a max contract… the only way they can is if the Nets trade him to one of these teams and thusly receive his bird rights in the process …so the Mavs would likely need to make a sizable offer and the lakers would need to come up off those 2027 and 2029 picks to make it work

And? I still wouldn’t trust Kyrie unless he signed the extension up front.

Kyrie is who he is at this point and playing with Bron again won’t change that.

If Kyrie gets traded and burns bridges with the Lakers, he's not getting a max from anyone. He'd be relegated to year-to-year deals going forward. He's not going to risk that.
