The United States didn't have the intention of stopping anything.

The Soviets fought with the Allied powers in World War 2 against Germany. The Cold War happened after World War 2.

The United States already was working on space technology.

They brought the Nazis here for other technology. They sold you on the space program with a Nazi face to make it more palatable for American citizens.

Even had Werner Von Braun on TV with Walt Disney to make you believe it.

People don't even have a clue what most of the Nazis were actually working on. It's all behind security barriers on military bases.

But obviously they sold it well, because today you still believe that's the reason they were actually brought over here.
