And the rest, as they say, is history. So to fully explain what you quoted, as an inside joke anytime I say "something vs something" I always add "And The NBA Playoffs" because, gat-dammit, the 1990s were an awesome time to be alive!
Funny enough, while searching for the images for this post, I found out EA actually did make a "vs" game that was about war and was launched during the height of the Reagan and Gorbachev's presidencies. I present to you:
