people pretending that they considered the suns as a title contender at this point in the season but now its a scary superteam :dead:

ayton is good but he surely doesnt qualify to help make a team become a "superteam" :dead:

chris paul will be 38 by the time the playoffs start

and the suns just traded away all of their wing depth... i dont see it being a CLEARLY better roster than some of these west contenders.

Generally speaking this is the age old tale of top end peak vs depth as a predictor of success

I think there are limits to both methods but I defer to top end talent because they swing the pendulum much further.

But the caveat to that is that your role players have to show up over 7 game series....4 of them to be precise

And your coach cant be a fool

When you go top heavy all other people must have a base level of competence

The only caveat with this trade on the phoenix side is that you just committed all in on a relatively old core 3 and those guys haven’t been the standard of health over the past few seasons as well ..that’s really the only way this thing blows up is if KDs body starts to break down faster than anticipated as he’s missed a lot of games recently ..same with Paul and Booker to a degree
