I've always been black, doggy. In my home country, here and abroad. It's when I moved here that status of "immigrant" was added to my label but it didn't substitute the black so it doesn't mean I'm any less black than I was when I was in Haiti. As a matter of fact it's worst because being Haitian anywhere in the world makes you less desirable for the most part. Neither Black americans nor other black Caribbeans like Haitians. That's a known fact. Whether I call my self black or nwa or noir still resolves to the same: black.
