Just get ready for next season and give us the #1 pick...this season is a wash
y'all gotta get off this season gotta start in December stuff. It's a non starter that the players would turn down.If the season isn't able to resume within 90 days (that's by June 9th), just cancel the entire thing. Still do the awards and all that good shyt, count the season, there just won't be a champion. And they'll know by June 1st whether they can continue the season or not, so a hard announcement would come before June 9...
It would make mo sense to have a continuation of the 2019-20 season with a 3-month stoppage in play. Just gear up and prepare as if the 2020-21 will be on schedule...
All that said, I think they'll find a way to get the season started soon enough, before 90 days. What needs to be happening now, and I'm sure it is, is The League needs to be working on a contingency plan for shortening the 2020-21 season, in the 2019-20 season can resume....
The way I see it, the 2012 lockout season is the perfect blueprint. Start the season on Christmas week, if not Christmas Day itself. 66 games played over the next 4 months or so, starting the playoffs around the first week of May....
So hypothetically speaking, the '20 regular season resumes in mid-May after a two-month layoff, playoffs begin in mid-June, and end sometime in mid-August. This is ideal because there is really only a 4-month offseason in the NBA anyway, between the last Finals game and the first regular season game. Organizations would be able to accommodate according to schedule because it wouldnt actually be a shorter offseason; I'd use this method even if the season can't begin until early June...
But again, while I don't think it's likely, if the season can't resume within 90 days by June 9th, just cancel the entire year and pass the awards out...
if the current plan goes as planned (july-august), it would most likely start in Decembery'all gotta get off this season gotta start in December stuff. It's a non starter that the players would turn down.
We just have to concede that this year will screw over every single sport other than maybe the NFL.

If they start in July at all, it's gonna be a truncated postseason followed by a later start to the next season, with the likelihood of more back to backs to get the schedule back to normal.if the current plan goes as planned (july-august), it would most likely start in December
They might not have a choice. The blowback from trying to force a season in a pandemic like this will be worse than any loss of revenueNot only the players, you think the greedy ass owners will go for this shyt?
"We lost massive revenue for 2019-2020 season - we're also good with letting this shyt roll over and effect our next calendar year, 2020-2021 season too. "
